Life is busy, it has caused me to not want to update the blog recently, a bit of anonymity is ok every once and in a while, in an age and day when everything and everybody throw it all on the table. As I check the blogs I like or stumble upon it is always the same stuff. That is ok, everyone needs and wants a voice, but it is ok to not say anything. Perhaps it is a sign that other things are going on ::: so that is my excuse, not in any particular order, some things that are going on.
1. Buying/Bought a house in Boulder, Co – This is scary, because the nice new TT wheels for this...

Circa 87′-88′, Morristown, New Jersey, I was at the Psycho Skates skateboard Demo near the shop located downtown. My friend Mark was on the Psycho Skates team and they were putting on a demo with Monty Nolder and few other pros that were rolling through town. Basically it was a jump ramp demo, a runway with a jump ramp at the end that all the dudes in the demo were launching off of. It was cool, I think might have been the first time I saw pros skating. My friend Mark did a backside 360 Judo Air, that was rad. After the demo we rolled around, or should I say speed around Morristown...

Coming up on 6 months in Boulder, Colorado. We moved at the end of August with more or less no idea what we were getting into. We got the scoop from some people whom went to school there or lived there briefly, a transient town, a lot of transplants and hangers on. So, after 6 months things are good, exciting and have lived up to the picture I painted in my head.
Ten Observations About Boulder.
1. The Cycling – Duh, that was a no brainer. The riding here is great, from my door I have a bunch of really great options. To the west into the mountains, North or South to rolling terrain...

4.25 hours, 95 miles and one hell of a dogfight. From DIA to Deertrail and back, 2 sprint signs in Strasburg, Co and Deertrail, Co. 2 of the most remote towns I have ever wandered through, a few building, no stop lights and a bar or 2. 12 dudes, 50 degrees of sun a slight headwind and the grinding of gears. A 2 day bike hangover is left in the tracks, my head pounding, my legs twitching and my lower back aching.
Not much of a pissing contest, but the hardest strongest ride I have pedaled on in quite sometime. So new friendships started, some old stories told, a bit rubber left on the road...

As the winter rolls on here in Boulder and more snow and cold get dumped on us, my only chance to get some training done is to jump on the rollers or trainer. I have taken to the trails for some snowy running, skate skiing, classic xc and some cross bike riding. But still I find the need every now and again to ride the bike indoors. This is usually accompanied by a movie thanks to my friends at HULU.COM. Without them I would be watching the Dark Crystal over and over again. So, I pop over to HULU and see what I can watch, usually I look for something that is the length of my workout, so...

2009 is in the books and it was very pivotal year in my life, and I think 2010 will be a defining year of my life. It has already started out very interesting with 10 hours on the bike in 3 days, 2 ride at 4 hours, not that it will define my life, but I feel some interesting and potential significant stuff will happen, evolve, present and create for one heck of year. The biggest thing of 2009 was our quick and fast move from the comforts of Philadelphia to Boulder, Colorado. Nothing has really been significant in either mine or Annas life. We have embrassed this move and really have come...

As I sit here in my corner of the world, feeling fat and happy with Anna next to me, great food, snacks and wine. I need to talk a little about my Uncle Bob and my Grandma Dot who has Alzheimers. She is 93 and I must say that I have always had a great little connection with her, all grandchildren are connected with their Grandparents and I have different connections with both sets of mine. But Grandma Dot was a bit more distant, not so close so the time we spent was usually in big chunks, a week or 2 at a time when I was a kid. I liked that, it made the time more special, more sacred,...

Having some issues with my body, out of the blue again I am having some crazy pain and tightness in my shoulders. Went to the doctor today, he was cool. Did a bunch of cracking and yanking, felt good. Heading in for an MRI next week to try and get this figured out. My arms and hands are numb and tingly and it is hitting my legs now. Bit worried, but the doc seems cool. At the least I can get him to prescribe medical marijuana
Told me to stick to my usual routine, keep at it, it being life. So, 3 hours out to Carter Lake with 70 minutes at tempo. Sun was setting and the air was...

It has been 10 years since I stepped into a snowboard and slid downhill. I used to live for it, similar to how I live to ride my bike and race my bike. I fell in love with snowboarding back in the late 80’s shredding the local ice of Vernon Valley ( now Mountain Creek). From Ski Bus at the local to school to hitting up VT with friends on the occasional break or weekend. The 90’s found myself living and riding out west, specifically the Pacific Northwest, calling my home mountain Mt.Hood Meadows. That was the peak, the ultimate in passion.
Somewhere I lost the passion for snowboarding,...

The week of the Turkey. That is what starts today. Everyday I think about a turkey until finally the week is over and I am no longer thinking about turkey. I know a lot of Turkeys and I am not thinking about them but more about an actual turkey. This week the turkey has some interesting stuff in store for us here in Colorado, with some new experiences and explorations on tap in a few. The turkey also starts the downward spiral to 2010 and kicks things into gear. As I read about people just now starting the off-season, I am well into the planning and preparation for the 2010 race season. While...
