This is a doozy of a first lap, blistering fast. The course is basically flat without much elevation change. The conditions are muddy but tacky, the course is fast! The first lap was so fast that I decided to show 2 laps, because as Stybar launched off the front for lap it was so fast it was hard to follow. Albert had some work to do on the first 2 laps to work his way through the big field. The start was pretty funny as it was a false start. Seems as the UCI officials were messing with the start. Anyhow, enjoy and please discuss the tactics and importance of the first lap.

Since I missed racing again this weekend, I decided to spend a lot of time on the computer. I cut the first lap of the Grote Prijs Neerpelt Elite race. I think the first lap is rad in any cross race. A lot of dicing, a lot of power, a lot of racing. Anyhow, since I missed what looked like a great race at Interlocken. It was nice to see Anna’s mom and her sister and I would never trade family for racing, especially when it is 20 degrees and snowing. More on life, and family visits later, for now enjoy 7 minutes of racing of lap one of GP Neerpelt 09/21/09.
